Mark as Useful Firstly, if your telephone number is unlisted it won't protect you against anyone dialing your number and ringing your phone.An unlisted number is NOT an automatically "unavailable: number. Secondly, if your telephone service provider has a feature which allows you to "block" numbers that you know are annoying why not use it?
In New York, Verizon offers just such a service. It's called Call Intercept and you can enter up to 25 "annoyance call" numbers. They CANNOT get through to annoy you! If you cannot get this service then just pickup the phone when it rings with this telephone number and hang it up immediately!That's about all you can do!

Mark as Useful Calling saying they are filing a court document and gave reference # starting with MD which is the state I live in. Called back, no answer got a vague message not stating company name or any info just leave my info. Called my moms house too.

Mark as Useful This Shane Adams called telling me that the FBI is coming after me for a pay day loan that has not been paid. He called several times because the call would disconnect. He sounds foreign as in Nigeria or African decent. He tried to intimidate me about this outstanding pay day loan which I have no clue what he is talking about. He wanted to speak to my supervisor. I told him not to call me at my office and to seize and desist from calling me.
